R.I.P St. Albert Cheese Factory

The best curds from around this area (and the world!) are from St. Albert Cheese Factory in St. Albert, Ontario. Today the whole factory burned down. There will be no curds available for a while until they rebuild. This is so sad for the community, for the people who worked there and for all of us who love their curds on our poutine.

THis is just the pits. I feel for all the people who work there, and for all of us who love their cheese and curds! That was their marbled cheese we had on the chili last night. :((( Hope they can rebuild quickly.

What a tragedy! St. Albert's cheese is a local institution and its loss will affect the whole of Eastern Ontario. I hope they can re-build.

We love their curds! This is awful news, certainly for everyone who works there or depends on their business but, selfishly, for those of us from much farther away who love their curds on our poutine. Please keep us posted on the rebuild!
